I could go on for a while about saving pennies. I lost my job a few weeks ago and my husband and I are learning how to live on less. All the above things I have actually done for a long time. I am huge advocate of local produce to enrich the local economy. I guess one could say I am a "hippie" of sorts, but you can definitely watch the amounts add up. I recently spent $330 on groceries at my local co-op, where I am a member, and if I had gone to a department store it would have cost me at least $100 more.
