We do a lot during our days without even thinking. Unfortunately, if we did think about it, we might just ask “why?” Why do we buy paper towels, in quantity, when we could use rags from our old clothes for nothing? Why do we buy deodorizers, even as part of our décor, when we could clean, bring in flowers, or even use baking soda, one of the things sitting idly in our cupboard, just as effectively.

The point is, there are many ways we could save by doing very little things around our house that would result in savings, and we wouldn’t have to think about it. It wouldn’t change our lives much at all.

Pennypinchinghints wants to share some of those easy, quick ways you can save money without even thinking much about it.

Consider—what if you,

  • Cut out watching cable?
  • Replaced your electric dryer with a gas dryer?
  • Closed the damper on your fireplace?
  • Made sure you did most of your errands on one trip, not several?
  • Turned the lights off when you left a room?
  • Replaced your appliances as needed with energy efficient ones?
  • Used only one credit card?
  • Cleaned the dust off your appliances regularly?
  • Got your magazines and books at the library?
  • Replaced your light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs?
  • Unplugged your TV and computer every night?
  • Drove the speed limit?
  • Bought a generic food brand?
  • Took lunch to work?
  • Always washed your clothes with cold water?
  • Turned your thermostat back one degree?

Could you save some pennies, and do pennies add up to dollars? All of the things listed above are proven money savers. We just need to incorporate them into our lives. Doing so would not bother us much at all, but we would have real cash in our hands at the end of a year.

Pennypinchinghints asks that you get on this bandwagon and help others, too. Please share your list of the small things you can do daily without disruption to save $$s!
