- Bundled packages are less expensive. Purchase your phone service, internet, and cable though one local company.
- Check into broadband and digital phone services such as Vonage or VOIP, which are less expensive because you escape service fees.
- Check your phone bill and reduce optional features like caller ID.
- Get rid of your long distance service and buy pre-paid phone cards for all long distance calls.
- Instead of cable, use Hulu.com. This website streams over 900 hit TV shows from both regular TV stations and cable. It costs nothing, and you can get news, too.
- Maybe you should get rid of your landline all together. Skype Out allows you to call landlines and cell phones around the world at local rates. Skype also offers free voicemail through their Skypeln plan which allows your friends, family, and business colleagues to call you wherever you are in the world on their land-line phone even if they don’t have Skype.

I called Comcast Cable to downgrade my service (to save some money) and the phone customer service woman lowered my monthly bill from $130/month to $71/month with NO reduction of service/channels, etc.

I think online calling cards and VOIP are the best way to reduce your calling cost, there are some websites like itelcards.com that sells calling cards for as low as $5 and provide as much as hours for as little as $5.
